Lisa Salvador, Assistant Vice President

Lisa Salvador
One of Lisa Salvador’s earliest childhood memories was going on long walks and carefully selecting rocks that had the most fascinating colors, textures and designs. Years later, she would formalize her interests in earth, soil and rocks by studying geotechnical engineering, tectonics and hydrogeology, eventually earning a degree in geology. For the next 12 years, she acquired extensive experience in all phases of hydrogeologic site assessments, from the initial site visit and work plan development, to the implementation and oversight of remedial activities. And these days, she’s combining both left brain and right brain skills—geology, planning, organization and communications—to manage FutureNet Group’s in-house proposal team, and help the company compete for and acquire contracts in the construction and environmental industries.

After joining FutureNet Group in 2006, Salvador’s keen eye for detail and personal interest in communications as an art form proved to be a perfect fit for identifying business opportunities with the Federal Government, and responding to its numerous requirements. Today, she is an integral member of the business development team, reviewing “go, or no go” new business analyses and focusing on those contracts that require specific certifications already attained, fall within targeted geographic areas, and require capabilities that the company can achieve as a prime contractor. Salvador recently helped to manage the process for FNG’s ISO 9001:2008 certification, which is an international Quality Management System and certifies that the company has met these standards. Her role extends to managing and training staff in technical writing and communications, and being a part of the executive leadership team. Salvador also looks for teaming partners that can achieve the desired outcomes—high levels of customer service—as specified by FutureNet Group

As a geologist, Salvador has extensive experience in the preparation of topographic and subsurface maps, environmental audits, endangerment assessments and feasibility studies, well design and installation, air monitoring, data logging and drilling in Levels A, B and C. In the area of communications, she has been involved with communication strategy for highly sensitive issues associated with the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet (MRGO), Deep-Draft, Deauthorization Study for the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), New Orleans District. She also has assisted in identifying long-term community recovery planning through a highly interactive process with key stakeholders, including local elected officials, community leaders, state planning agencies and the general public.

Although she rarely dons a hard hat these days, on any given day, Salvador can be seen tunneling through a range of strategies to improve the company’s bottom line. Her personal favorite, though, draws on her varied background: combining the art of communications and science to achieve growth projections for FutureNet Group, one proposal at a time.
