Henry Shah, Vice President

Henry Shah
Henry Shah is an avid believer in preparation: preparing the people he manages for any challenge, and preparing himself to stay ahead of the demands of an industry that grows more competitive each day. Part leadership coach and part hands-on manager, he makes sure that his divisions at FutureNet Group (FNG) operate within the company’s mission: to provide professional solutions that use innovative technology.

With more than 20 years of professional experience in environmental engineering and construction under his belt, Shah is in his comfort zone when it comes to total project management, including contract negotiations and the creation of team relationships. Since joining FutureNet Group in 2004, he has led, directed and managed numerous environmental projects for federal government clients, including U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and Air National Guard, and implemented strategic programs to assist clients in solving highly controversial and complex technical and environmental problems. He has earned a reputation for providing successful and cost-effective project management services in civil, environmental, and geotechnical and hydrogeologic engineering investigations, as well as demolition and construction. His project management skills were deemed exceptional for being completed on time and within budget.

In addition, he works with other FNG team members, to ensure that projects are won and operated efficiently. It’s a company-wide strategy that, so far, gets good ratings and good references from clients.

Shah earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at Gujarat University, India; a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering at Wayne State University, and an MBA from Eastern Michigan University.

As FNG broadens its reach into more environmental and construction projects around the country, he is stacking up frequent flyer miles. Still, he finds time to immerse himself in world affairs, and enjoy several musical instruments, like the flute, piano, clarinet and saxophone. Shah and his family also manage to carve out time to travel, enjoying some of the country’s greatest points of interest, like Yellowstone and Yosemite National Parks, and places of historic significance, like Washington, D.C. An all around sports fan, he follows basketball, football, hockey, cricket, tennis and soccer.

How does he manage it and continue to work a 50-hours-plus workweek? He says it’s all in his persistence, passion and, let’s not forget, preparation, to be a better professional.
